N.b. Due to the exceptional circumstances, the parties to the negotiations agreed to temporarily amend the provisions of the current collective agreement. The amendments apply to the reduction of the notice period, the declaration of sick leave, the right to care for a sick child under the age of 10 and the derogation from the deadlines set out in the Business Cooperation Act. Here you will find detailed information on temporary changes to collective agreements for hotel, restaurant and leisure services. In addition to the PA negotiations, PSAC`s negotiating teams for the TC, EB and SV groups of the PA group joined us in reaching agreement on the Department of Finance`s issues, which are common to all groups. „I am pleased that PA employees, many of whom supported critical services to Canadians during the pandemic, have a new interim agreement and that all employees represented by PSAC are being compensated for the toll that the Phoenix payroll system has had on their lives. This is proof of our commitment to fair and equitable agreements, taking into account the current economic and fiscal environment. Like the Phoenix compensation agreement, jointly developed by the federal government and other negotiators in 2019, the agreement includes measures to help those who have had unreought financial costs and capital income and who have experienced personal and financial difficulties. The agreement also includes general compensation for current and former PSAC employees. The total amount of maternity, maternity and paternity leave entitled to an increase allowance is 57 weeks if both parents are employed in the public service. These include 18 weeks of maternity leave, a 32-week parental allowance and a 5-week paternity allowance.
Under certain conditions, an additional two weeks may be available, please respect your collective eligibility agreement. A three-year contract will allow PSAC, as the main bargaining partner, to set the pace of public service negotiations in the next round of negotiations. The Government remains committed to entering into collective agreements with all outstanding bargaining units for this round of negotiations, including those represented by the PSAC. In short, collective bargaining in the sector in 2020 took place in exceptional circumstances due to the difficulties caused by the coronavirus pandemic. In the spring of 2020, the previously agreed tariff period was extended to the end of September due to coronavirus. An agreement was reached at the end of the contract and the new collective agreement came into force from 1.10.2020 to 31.3.2022. The amount of wage increases was not agreed upon during collective bargaining. The agreement contains two separate pay review dates in February and October 2021. It was at this time that separate wage negotiations took place.
In the absence of an agreement in wage negotiations, the collective agreement will end sooner. The agreement provides for a reduction in working hours for workers in the sector, as there are more days of annual leave.
