Good news! Their next 3% increase in EBA salary will begin with the first full pay period after July 1, 2019. This is the last salary increase planned for the current EBA. It is important that all workers join the union before negotiating the next EBA. Together, we do much more than we do alone. Registered contracts apply until they are terminated or replaced. If a job has a registered contract, the premium does not apply. However, nearly 60 USU/ASU delegates from all states and territories met in Melbourne on February 5, 2020 to begin preparations for negotiations with Qantas Airways and QFIT. This will be the 12th ASU Enterprise Agreement (EBA) with these companies.
This is an important EBA that will cover the salaries and conditions of one of the largest groups of employees of the Qantas Group. Remember that there is always a lot of information and activity while negotiations are ongoing. You and your colleagues must continue to be active and engaged (more than ever) to ensure the implementation of the agreement and address issues in your workplace for the duration of the agreement. Ask your colleagues to join you as a member of Together to make the most of this new agreement. If you are not a member, now is the time to join. Don`t wait until it`s time to negotiate the next deal – we need your help to protect our EBA terms today. Here you can download an update of the negotiations on enterprise agreements. The most effective way to address issues with your Union is to speak airlines@together.org.au directly to one of your union industry employees who is experienced by e-mail or on 1800 177 244. One of the next steps will be a meeting of your union advisory committee. It is a forum for union members to address all the problems that arise in the workplace.
The best way to express concerns about EB or other workplace issues is to contact your delegates or your union office. It is important to attend your local meeting to accommodate the delegates` recommendation on the application. We will also provide members with a detailed understanding of the results of the EBA investigation, so pay attention to the details. If you have any questions about this email or if you need help at work, Contact your USU organizer, Thomas Russell, on 0419 761 320 or email trussell@usu.org.au At our meeting, your USU/ASU delegates took into account the more than 1000 responses received in our EBA 12 survey, and the results were analyzed in detail to understand what people want to achieve in future negotiations.
